How you can help buildThere are lots of ways: time, donations, party attending DonationsBUiLD welcomes the support of individuals and families in our community. Your gift or memorial donation of $25, $50, $100, $1,000, $5,000 or more helps to provide a quality program for the children and teens of the BUiLD house. BUiLD is a registered 501 (c)(3) organization (tax id #94-3284322), so your donations are tax-deductible.By MailIf you would like to donate by mail, please send your check to the address listed at the bottom of the page (made out to Berkeley Youth Living with Disabilities). Feel free to indicate if the gift is on behalf of one of the residents.Online Just Give is our preferred organization for online donations. It's a great place to go in general for online donations, as they keep overhead pretty low to enable as much of your donation to go to the organization as they can. You can read about BUiLD's mission, Board of Directors, financial reports, and more at our entry on their site (we should probably publish it here as well, come to think of it...) The Power of the Purse In addition to giving directly, our fellow Californians can also make contributions to BUiLD by way of their grocery and other purchases. BUiLD islisted with eScrip, an organization that collects donations when you purchase items from participating suppliers with credit and ATM cards you've registered with their website. When you register, you're asked to identify which organizations you want to support. You can find us by searching for Group Name ("Berkeley Youth LIving with Disabilities") or Group ID ("5704500"). The process takes only about 15 minutes and is supported by many local retailers.MerchandiseBuild House recently opened an online shop at cafepress.com. Every item you purchase there will contribute $5.00 to Build's operations. There's lots of good products available already, and we'll try to add more soon. VolunteeringWe try to have lots of fun and activities planned, but could always use help. Going to the store, going on hikes, watching or marching in parades, all the stuff everyone else likes to do.
